NOPD Investigating Homicide in Seventh District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide today (January 28, 2022) in the 12100 block of North I-10 Service Road.

At about 9:58 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of a deceased individual at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male inside of an apartment. The victim was declared deceased at the scene. Upon further investigation, the victim was determined to be the victim of a homicide. At that time, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives assumed control of the Investigation.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
