NOPD Investigating Homicide in Fifth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide today (January 25, 2021) in the 2600 block of Touro Street.

At about 1:30 p.m., NOPD Fifth District officers were conducting a wellness check at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive adult male inside of a residence. The victim was declared deceased at the scene. NOPD Homicide Unit detectives have assumed control of the investigation.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional information is available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and determine official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
