Suspect in NOPD Homicide Investigation Quickly Identified, Arrested

The NOPD has arrested Paul Bickham (pictured, male, DOB: 04-26-1985) in the investigation of a homicide on January 28, 2021 in the 2200 block of North Galvez Street.

At about 7:12 p.m., NOPD Fifth District officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where he was declared deceased.

As investigation progressed, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives rapidly developed Bickham as a suspect. Further investigation led detectives to positively identify Bickham, who was known to the suspect, as the perpetrator and obtain a warrant for his arrest.

Bickham was arrested and booked into the Orleans parish Justice Center for one count of second-degree murder.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Homicide Detective Barrett Morton at 504-658-5300.
