NOPD Investigates Homicide on South Rendon Street

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred around 3:01 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2020.

Second District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the 1900 block of South Rendon Street. Upon arrival, the responding officers discovered an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported and pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive. There are no further details available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
