NOPD Investigates Fourth District Homicide

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred on January 25, 2020 in the Fourth District.

At around 5:50 p.m., Fourth District officers responded to reports of an aggravated battery by shooting in the 4200 block of Woodland Drive. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered one adult male and one adult female with apparent gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to an area hospital by EMS. The male victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive. There are no further details available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
