ARRESTED: Suspects Arrested Following Armed Carjacking

NOPD officers have arrested two suspects after they were observed in a vehicle that was reported stolen during an armed carjacking that occurred around 9 p.m. on January 5, 2020 in the 7500 block of Michigan Street.

On January 6, 2020 around 1 p.m., Seventh District officers observed a 2019 Dodge Charger while traveling in the area of Downman and Dwyer roads. The officers reportedly lost sight of the vehicle as it began traveling in a different direction. Officers then located the vehicle in the 3200 block of Montegut Street.

Shortly after, officers observed the two suspects who were identified as the occupants of the stolen vehicle. Upon attempting to conduct an investigatory stop, the subjects fled on foot, but were apprehended.

Rashaad Price (DOB: 10/07/1997) and Aashamad McClendon (DOB: 03/01/1999) were apprehended and transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center, where they were booked accordingly. Booking photos were not available as of this writing.
