Suspect Wanted for Obstruction of Justice, Accessory Charges in Homicide on Elysian Fields Avenue

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Donald Reaux (DOB: 05-22-1980) in connection with the ongoing investigation into the homicide of Theodore Jones, which occurred on October 29, 2018 in the 2900 block of Elysian Fields Avenue.

At about 1:35 a.m., NOPD Third District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at a Waffle House restaurant. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 34-year-old adult male later identified as Jones suffering from a gunshot wound. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene, at which time the investigation was transitioned to the NOPD Homicide Unit.

As investigation into this incident has progressed, Reaux has been identified by detectives as a subject believed to be involved in the homicide.

Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Reaux on the charges of obstruction of justice, conspiracy to commit obstruction of justice, and accessory to second degree murder.

Investigation into this incident remains active and ongoing. No further details are available at this time.
