NOPD Arrests Suspect in Pair of Fourth District Business Burglaries

The NOPD quickly arrested Harold Isom (DOB: 02-06-1968) in connection with two business burglaries reported within 10 minutes of each other in the Fourth District on January 13, 2019.

On January 13, business burglaries where reported in the 3900 and 4100 blocks of General Degaulle Drive at 11:24 p.m. and 11:32 p.m., respectively.

NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a business alarm call in the 3900 block of General Degaulle Drive. When they arrived, they discovered that the glass door to the business was shattered and that the business had been burglarized, with cash reported missing from the location.

While officers were investigating the aforementioned incident, they received a call of a business alarm activation in the 4100 block of General Degaulle Drive. Officers relocated to the second location and discovered a glass door had been shattered. Upon reviewing the video surveillance footage from the location, officers observed an unknown black male perpetrator attired in a black hooded jacket, white gloves, blue jeans and black shoes with a flashlight attached to his head having shattered the glass door and entering the business. The unknown subject was seen attempting to open the safe at the business and, when unsuccessful, then fled the location.

Officers canvassed the area and observed a male subject, later identified as Isom, standing near a bus stop in the 3600 block of General Degaulle Drive. The subject was found to be in possession of the stolen money from the first burglary and attired in the clothing and flashlight observed being worn by the suspect seen on video surveillance.

Isom was arrested and booked into the Orleans Justice Center for two counts each of burglary of a business and possession of stolen property, as well as for illegal carrying of burglary tools.

Detectives are actively investigating the possibility of the arrested subject being responsible for additional burglary incidents reported in the area.
