NOPD Arrests Suspect Found in Possession of Stolen Vehicle in Seventh District

The NOPD has arrested Kyrin Knatt (DOB: 04-24-2001) after he was found to be in possession of a vehicle reported as stolen.

On January 17, 2019, at about 10:00 a.m., the victim of a vehicle theft reportedly located his vehicle in the 1000 block of Chimneywood Lane. Upon reaching the location, the victim said, he saw an unknown black male – later identified as Knatt – attempting to take fuel from a lawnmower and place it into the victim’s vehicle. Upon observing the victim, Knatt reportedly fled the location on foot, but returned a short time later and resumed the attempt to move gas from the lawnmower to the car. The victim called the NOPD, after which Seventh District officers arrived at the location and arrested Knatt without incident.

Knatt was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for illegal possession of stolen things and unauthorized use of a moveable.

During the investigation, officers also found Knatt to have an open arrest warrant for a residential burglary that occurred in the 10 block of Curtis Drive on November 12, 2019.

Anyone with additional information on these incidents is asked to contact NOPD Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070.
