Suspect Arrested for Gun & Drug Possession on Henriette Delille Street & St. Bernard Avenue

Officers in the NOPD’s First District arrested Kadul Reed (DOB: 09-16-81) on January 6, 2017 after he was found to be in possession of a handgun, crack cocaine, marijuana, heroin, powder cocaine, 50 Tramadol pills and more than $1,900 in cash.

At about 7:23 p.m., First District General Assignment detectives conducted a suspicious person stop near the intersection of Henriette Delille Street and St. Bernard Avenue. Prior to the stop, Reed exited the vehicle. Detectives then observed a firearm in the vehicle.  As the investigation progressed, officers discovered Reed to be the owner of the vehicle, a convicted felon and on parole for a prior drug law conviction.

Officers then executed a search warrant of the vehicle where they located a Ruger handgun, crack cocaine, marijuana, heroin, powder cocaine, 50 Tramadol pills and more than $1,900 in cash.

Through the course of the investigation, officers learned Reed had locked and discarded the keys before coming into contact with detectives.  Officers observed Reed walking in the area prior to being arrested.

Reed was then transported to Central Lock-up and booked accordingly.

Anyone with any other information on Reed should contact any First District detective at 504-658-6010. Citizens with information that can help solve a crime are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
