NOPD Seeking Suspect Wanted in Aggravated Assault, Theft on Crowder Boulevard

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Megan Dearmas (DOB: 09-05-1996) in connection with an aggravated assault and theft that occurred on January 6, 2018 in the 7000 block of Crowder Boulevard.

The victim told police that at about 1 a.m., she and the Dearmas became involved in an argument over the disappearance of the victim’s cell phone from their apartment. Dearmas allegedly then attacked the victim and began to strike her repeatedly with her fists. At this point, a second female suspect then joined the fight and also began to strike the victim repeatedly in her back with a baton-type object. When the victim was able to break away from the attack, Dearmas then reportedly retrieved a large-handled screwdriver and began to chase the victim while trying to stab her. The victim was able to avoid being stabbed and the female suspects were forced out of the location. The victim called the police, and positively identified Dearmas as the suspect who stole her phone, struck her and tried to stab her. The investigation also revealed the suspect did take the victim’s cell phone. Detectives are working to identify the second female suspect.

When located, Dearmas will be arrested for aggravated assault and theft.

Anyone with information regarding the location of these suspects is asked to contact Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
