NOPD Investigating Fatal Shooting on North Robertson Street

The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting on January 28, 2018 in the 1400 block of North Robertson Street.

At about 12:14 a.m., First District officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male lying on the ground in the 1400 block of North Robertson Street, between Kerelec Street and Esplanade Avenue, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
