NOPD is investigating a shooting that took place in the 8000 block of Trapier Avenue.
This morning, (Jan. 8), at around 6:16 a.m., Seventh district officers were dispatched to the 8000 block of Trapier Avenue to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting. Upon arrival, they found a 29 -year-old male lying face down on the ground under the carport. The victim was suffering from a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
