On January 16, NOPD Seventh District officers arrested Michael Anderson (DOB: 09-13-1993) after he was found to be in possession of illegal narcotics and a handgun during a traffic stop in the 7100 block of Downman Road.
At about 12:15 p.m., Seventh District detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle observed to have committed a traffic violation in the area. During the stop, the driver – identified as Anderson – was found to be in possession of approximately 85 grams of marijuana, a semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine and a revolver, along with ammunition.
Anderson was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
