NOPD Seeking Vehicle of Interest in Fifth District Shooting Investigation

The NOPD is asking for the public's assistance in locating a vehicle of interest in the investigation of a shooting that occurred near the intersection of St. Anthony Street and North Derbigny Street.

On January 31, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the victim stated that he pulled over near an empty lot to let a female out of his vehicle (pictured, green 2000 Ford F-250 super-duty extended cab, with white skull & crossbones stickers on dual wheel covers and chrome “Yosemite Sam” sticker on tailgate).

As the female exited the vehicle on the passenger side, a black male known only as “Wayne” (5’11”, 180 lbs., mid-40s, low dreads) allegedly approached the vehicle and opened fire, striking the victim three times. The victim stated that he believes the perpetrator then took the green Ford F-250.

If anyone has any information regarding this vehicle or incident, please notify Fifth District detectives at 504-658-6050, 911, or Crimestoppers anonymously at 504-822-1111.
