NOPD Seeking Person & Vehicle of Interest in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD is asking for the public's help in locating a person and vehicle of interest in a homicide investigation.

On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at approximately 10:17 a.m., Fifth District Officers responded to a shot person in the 1900 block of North Dorgenois Street.

Upon arrival they discovered a the victim, an unknown black male, lying on a sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  EMS arrived and pronounced the victim deceased.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's office later identified the victim as 33-year old Shane Casmier.

Through investigation, detectives determined the pictured subject and vehicle were of interest in this incident. The pictured subject is not wanted for the homicide, but detectives believe he may have information pertinent to their investigation.

The vehicle is described as a maroon-colored Mitsubishi, which fled West bound on North Dorgenois Street, then unknown.
