The NOPD is investigating a hit and run that occurred this evening (February 29, 2024) near the intersection of France Road Parkway and Alvar Street that left one person dead.
At about 8:25 p.m., NOPD Fifth District officers responded to a call of a pedestrian struck at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive adult male lying in the roadway. The victim was declared deceased on scene.
The Orleans Parish Coroner will officially identify the victim in this incident upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
