NOPD Arrests Subject in Sixth District Stabbing Incident

On February 7, 2024, NOPD Sixth District officers arrested Sharon Stewart (black female, DOB: 03-16-1968) shortly after a stabbing incident that occurred in the 2100 block of Magazine Street.

At about 11:59 a.m., NOPD Sixth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by cutting at the location. Upon investigation, detectives learned that an adult black female allegedly arrived at the location and attacked a female victim, stabbing her multiple times. The subject then reportedly threatened two additional victims before fleeing the scene on foot.

Sixth District officers canvassed the area and located the suspect, later identified to be Stewart, placing her under arrest without further incident.

Stewart was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for one count of attempted second-degree murder and for two counts of aggravated assault in this incident. Stewart was additionally arrested for aggravated battery and aggravated arson in relation to two separate incidents that occurred in January.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is urged to contact NOPD Sixth District detectives at 504-658-6060.
