NOPD VOWS, U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect in Investigation of November 2022 Homicide

On February 2, 2023, the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and U.S. Marshals from both the New Orleans and Austin, Texas divisions arrested Anderson Dixon (black male, DOB: 06-13-2002) in a November 9, 2022, homicide in the 13100 block of Bishop C.L. Morton Drive.

At about 9:29 p.m. on November 9, NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of a shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive adult male gunshot wound victim. The victim was declared deceased on scene.

On November 11, 2022, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office positively identified the victim as 20-year-old Hendrick Jackson and determined preliminary cause of death to be from a gunshot wound.

As investigation into the incident progressed, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed and positively identified Dixon as the perpetrator. Detectives then obtained an arrest warrant for Dixon on one count of second-degree murder.

On February 2, Dixon was located and arrested in Austin Texas by NOPD and U.S. Marshals personnel. He is currently awaiting extradition back to Orleans Parish.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
