UPDATE: NOPD Investigating Triple Homicide in First District

UPDATE: The third victim in this incident, a female who was hospitalized following the incident for treatment of a gunshot wound, has been pronounced deceased. 

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will officially identify the three deceased victims and determine official causes of death upon complete of autopsies and notification of the victims’ respective families.

ORIGINAL: The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred this evening (February 26, 2022) in the 2900 block of Conti Street that left two people deceased and a third injured.

At about 6:52 p.m., NOPD First District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers located three subjects at the scene having sustained gunshot wounds. Two of the victims, both males, were declared deceased on scene. The third victim - a female - was transported to a local hospital via EMS for treatment.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
