NOPD Investigating Homicide on Deslonde Street

 

The NOPD is investigating a shooting that occurred today, February 23, 2021 in the 2200 block of Deslonde Street that left an adult male victim dead.

At about 2:11 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to a medical call that was later changed to an aggravated battery by shooting in the area. The adult male victim was located in the street and suffering from a gunshot(s) wound. The victim was rendered aid by EMS, however he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as motive. No further information is available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the decedent’s official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
