Suspect, Person of Interest Sought in Investigation of Homicide on Governor Nicholls Street

The NOPD continues to search for a suspect and a person of interest in the investigation of the homicide of Russell Teal, which occurred in the First District.

In the early morning hours of February 5, 2018, Russell Teal was found dead in the 1400 block of Governor Nicholls Street. An autopsy later determined Teal’s death was a homicide. As a result of the follow-up investigation, investigators are searching for the two male subjects pictured above.

The individual pictured at left wearing glasses and a red backpack is considered a person of interest and is sought for questioning in this incident. The individual pictured at right wearing a black and white striped jacket is considered a suspect and is wanted for this incident. The suspect may use the name "Midnight".
