NOPD Seeking Vehicles, Suspects in Third District Armed Robbery

The NOPD is seeking information to assist in the investigation of an armed robbery reported to have occurred at the intersection of Western Street and Mirabeau Avenue on February 12, 2019.

At about 2:30 p.m., three males were doing concrete work at the intersection when an unknown black male – described as standing approximately 5’10” with a thin frame and short hair, wearing dark clothing – allegedly pointed a black handgun at them. The male demanded keys from the three males, and all three workers complied. The male then reportedly entered one of the victims’ vehicles – the pictured brown 2008 Chevrolet Silverado bearing Louisiana license plate C703591 – and fled the area.

Additionally, NOPD Third District detectives believe that a black Jeep Cherokee bearing Louisiana license plate 305AAF may also have be involved in the armed robbery. The Jeep was reported stolen from the 6700 block of Dorchester Street, in the Seventh District, on February 8. A photo of the Jeep, captured from a city license plate reader camera, is included.

Anyone with information on this incident or the whereabouts of the suspects and/or pictured vehicles is asked to contact NOPD Third District detectives at 504-658-6030, or to call anonymously to Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
