ARRESTED: NOPD Apprehends Suspect for Illegal Carrying of a Firearm in Eighth District

NOPD officers have arrested Ladewitt Randall (DOB: 04/20/1994) for illegally carrying a concealed weapon in the Eighth District.

On February 4, 2019, around 1 a.m., Eighth District officers were patrolling near the intersection of Bourbon and Bienville streets when they observed the pictured subject with a bulge beneath his clothing, which appeared to be a concealed firearm.

The officers reportedly gave the subject a verbal command to stop, but the subject ignored the command and ran away from the officers. After a brief pursuit, the subject was apprehended without further incident. Officers confiscated a black fully loaded handgun, in addition to Tramadol tablets.

Through further investigation, the officers learned that Randall is a convicted felon. He was transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center where he was booked accordingly.

Anyone with any additional information regarding this incident should contact Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080.
