Suspects Sought in Auto Theft, Hit and Run Incident in Fifth District

The NOPD is searching for four subjects believed to be responsible for a hit-and-run vehicle crash while driving a vehicle reported as stolen.

The vehicle was reported stolen from the Second District in an incident that occurred in the 3100 block of Nashville Avenue on February 19, 2018. The victim told police that at about 4 p.m. on February 18, she parked and locked her burgundy 2018 Honda CRV bearing Louisiana license plate #444BCQ in her driveway in the 3100 block of Nashville Avenue. She said that when she returned to the location at about 7 a.m. on February 19, she discovered her vehicle missing and notified the NOPD.

The vehicle was recovered by Fifth District officers on February 20 in the 1300 block of Gallier Street, after it was found to be unoccupied and having collided with two nearby vehicles. Detectives spoke with several bystanders, who gave descriptive information on the vehicle’s occupants. Detectives also obtained surveillance video, which can be viewed at https://youtu.be/R9UV9lm_g8M, showing the hit-and-run crash and the subjects exiting the vehicle and fleeing the scene on foot.

The subjects were described as follows:

  • A black male last seen wearing a dark colored jacket, white shirt and khaki pants.
  • A black male last seen wearing a khaki colored shirt and long pants, with a distinct green cast on his right arm.
  •  A black male last seen wearing a black long-sleeved T-shirt and black pants
  • A black male last seen wearing a white t-shirt and black pants.
