NOPD Identifies Suspect in Domestic Aggravated Assault with a Firearm Incident

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Aaron Mitchell (DOB: 11/20/1991) in connection with a domestic aggravated assault with a firearm incident that occurred on February 15, 2018 near the intersection of St. Bernard and North Claiborne avenues.

The victim told police that at about 1:30 p.m., she was traveling westbound on North Claiborne Avenue near St. Bernard Avenue when she observed her ex-boyfriend, later identified as Mitchell, following her. Mitchell then allegedly pulled alongside of the victim’s vehicle and pointed a black firearm at her and the other occupants inside of her vehicle. The victim said she then sped away and notified the NOPD.

Fifth District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Mitchell, who is wanted for domestic aggravated assault with a firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
