The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Jerald Bordere (DOB: 07-21-1999), who has been identified as a suspect in a double shooting in the 700 block of Union Street on February 13, 2018.

At about 3:17 p.m., a fight reportedly occurred among a group of approximately 10 individuals on Union Street near Carondelet Street. One man in the group allegedly produced a handgun and fired into the group, striking one victim in the leg and a second victim in the head area. Both victims were transported to an area hospital by EMS. With patrols throughout the area, NOPD was in position to respond immediately to the incident and secure the scene.

A previous surveillance image released later that day showed one of the suspects.

As investigation into the incident progressed, detectives released an image on February 17 taken from surveillance video near the scene showing three individuals who were positively identified for their involvement in this incident.

On February 22, members of the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad unit arrested one of the identified suspects, Kentrell Howard (DOB: 12-27-2000). Howard was booked with two counts of principle to attempted murder.

Further investigation led detectives to positively identify Bordere as the perpetrator in this incident. Bordere and the third pictured suspect remain at large.

When located, Bordere will be arrested for two counts of attempted second degree murder, illegal carrying of a firearm at a parade/during commission of a violent crime and illegal use of a firearm.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing. No further details are available at this time.
