Two Suspects Sought for Armed Robbery on Freret Street

The NOPD is looking for two armed robbery suspects.

 

The victim reported that on January 31, 2017, at approximately 7:45 p.m. she was closing the Supermercado Las Acacias grocery in the 4900 block of Freret Street when two unknown males entered the store. One of the perpetrators pointed a handgun at her and demanded money while the other one stood at the door also demanding money.  The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene on foot.

 

Suspect #1 is described as a Hispanic male, 5'3” tall with a medium build. He had a black handgun and was wearing a black hoodie and a cloth over his face. Suspect #2 is described as a Hispanic male, 5'3”tall with a medium build and short brown hair. He wore a dark colored jacket.

Armed Robbery

In Louisiana, an armed robbery conviction requires the offender to be imprisoned at hard labor for 10 – 99 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. When a firearm is used in the commission of the crime, the offender will be imprisoned for an additional 5 years that will be served consecutively to the original sentence.
