Suspect Identified in Homicide on West Laverne Street

Suspect Identified in Homicide on West Laverne Street

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Leo Andrew Dorsey (DOB: 08-19-1991) in connection with a fatal double shooting that occurred on January 31, 2017 in the 7100 block of West Laverne Street.

At about 11:23 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive female victim inside of a residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified as Tiffany Thomas (DOB: 04-16-1991), was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second female victim in this incident, also suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, arrived at an area hospital via private conveyance.

During the course of investigation, detectives were able to develop Dorsey as the perpetrator in this incident.

Dorsey is described as a black male standing about 5’6” and weighing about 160 pounds. He is believed to be armed and dangerous.

When located, Dorsey will be arrested and charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder in this incident.
