Suspect Arrested for Multiple Charges in Seventh District

NOPD Seventh District officers arrested Antoine Massey (DOB: 6/15/1992) on multiple charges after he was spotted today driving a black vehicle that is believed to be used in a shooting incident that occurred two days ago in the Seventh District.

Just after 12:30 p.m., officers observed a black sport utility vehicle on Haynes Boulevard that matched the description of a vehicle involved in a recent shooting incident. As officers got behind the vehicle, the driver started speeding and disregarding traffic signals. While following behind, officers then observed Massey throwing a firearm out of the vehicle on Morrison Road. Massey’s vehicle eventually became immobile and he was seen running on foot. Officers then engaged in a foot chase with the suspect and he was apprehended in the 7200 block of Bundy Road.

Massey was charged with multiple traffic violations including reckless operation of a motor vehicle, criminal trespass, resisting an officer, aggravated flight from an officer and felon in possession of a firearm. Further investigation revealed that Massey was on parole for an armed robbery charge. Officers also confiscated a .40 caliber firearm.

Seventh District investigators are working to see if Massey has been involved in other violent crimes including the shooting incident that recently occurred in the Seventh District.
