The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred tonight, February 23, 2017 in the 3700 block of Clematis Street.
At about 7:49 p.m., Third District officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area. The call was updated to a male down. Upon arrival, officers discovered the unresponsive body of a 27-year-old male lying in the vacant lot suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name and official cause of death.
