The NOPD is investigating a homicide that happened this morning (Feb. 2) in the Seventh District.
At approximately 9 a.m. NOPD received a call of an aggravated assault with a firearm in the Chateau Orleans Apartments in the 14700 block of Chef Menteur Highway. Upon arrival they found a 29-year-old black female suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS transported the victim to the hospital where she later expired.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name and the official cause of death.
