NOPD Arrests Suspect in Homicide Investigation

On November 30, 2023, the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad, Violent Crime Abatement and Investigative Team and K9 Unit arrested Khron A. Williams (black male, DOB: 06-12-2005) in the investigation of a homicide that occurred on October 4, 2023, in the 400 block of Josephine Street.

At about 8:54 p.m. on October 4, NOPD Sixth District officers responded to a call of a shot person at the intersection of Saint Thomas and Saint Andrew streets. Upon arrival, officers located a scene but found no victims. Officers soon after were advised of two male gunshot wound victims that arrived at local hospitals at approximately the same time. Upon further investigation, it was determined that both had sustained gunshot wounds in the same incident. One of the victims was later pronounced deceased. The location of occurrence was also later determined to have been the 400 block of Josephine Street.

On October 6, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified the deceased victim as 18-year-old Kenneth Johnson and determined cause of death to be from gunshot wound injuries.

As the investigation progressed, NOPD Homicide Section detectives developed and positively identified Williams as the perpetrator of the homicide. An arrest warrant was obtained for Williams on one count of second-degree murder.

Williams was located today in the Fourth District by NOPD VOWS, VCAIT and K9 officers. He was arrested and booked accordingly into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
