The NOPD has arrested Derrick Theriot, black male DOB: 1-12-1998 for a homicide that occurred in February of this year.
The victim was gunned down in the 3600 block of Franklin Avenue on February 4, 2023.
The Orleans Parish Coroner identified the victim as Ryan Williams, DOB: 09-07-1999.
Through investigation, detectives identified Derrick Theriot as the perpetrator in this incident and obtained an arrest warrant for him today (December 15, 2023).
Theriot was rebooked on charges of second degree murder. He was already incarcerated in the Orleans Justice Center on unrelated drug and weapons charges.
The lead investigator in the case is Homicide Detective Matthew Riffle.
