The NOPD is asking for the public's assistance in locating a suspect wanted for illegally carrying a concealed firearm in the Third District.
On December 17, 2022, Imani Smith, (pictured, black male DOB:11-15-1996) was captured on surveillance video allegedly carrying and concealing a rifle while in the parking lot of a business in the 4900 block of Chef Menteur Highway.
Officers reportedly approached the suspect, but he then allegedly fled in a black Acura (pictured, no license plate).
A second suspect, an unknown white male, was observed in the passenger seat also reported to have been armed with a handgun.
