NOPD Makes Quick Arrest in Fourth District Shooting

NEW ORLEANS - The NOPD arrested a subject in connection with an aggravated battery by shooting that occurred in the Fourth District.

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on December 3, 2020 in the 1500 block of Newton Street.

When Fourth District officers arrived on the scene, they discovered two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. They were transported to a local hospital in a private vehicle.

The accused perpetrator, later identified as Nathaniel Lombard (B/M DOB: 06/26/1984), fled the scene on foot. Officers canvassed the area and apprehended Lombard in the 200 block of LeBoeuf Street without further incident.

A short time later, officers recovered a firearm believed to have been used in the incident.

Lombard was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated second-degree battery and three counts of aggravated criminal damage to property.
