NOPD Investigates a Homicide, Shooting with  Multiple Victims

The NOPD is investigating a homicide and shooting incident involving three male and two female victims on December 8, 2019.

 

At around 9:58 p.m., Sixth District officers responded to shots fired in the 3800 block of Washington Avenue.  Upon arrival, officers discovered two male and two female victims suffering from gunshot wounds. They were all transported to a local hospital, by EMS. One of the male victims was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

 

Through the course of the investigation, officers discovered that a group of victims were inside and outside of a local bar and lounge, when unknown suspects started firing shots at them striking the victims.

 

As the investigation progressed, officers discovered a third male victim suffering from a gunshot wound, believed occurred during the incident arrived at the hospital via private conveyance.

 

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
