New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison, New Orleans Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness Director Collin Arnold and other local First Responder leaders today recognized the one-year anniversary of the Real Time Crime Center.
During a press conference held today at the monitoring center, officials discussed the importance the center and its collection of cameras placed at locations throughout the city have had in aiding criminal investigations and, in some cases, even helping to address crime as it happens.
NOPJF CEO Melanie Talia also discussed the implementation of the new SafeCamNOLA Platinum service, where local citizens can share their public-facing surveillance camera footage with the RTCC on an as-needed basis in an effort to assist the NOPD in investigating crimes.
