The NOPD has arrested Tom Ledet (DOB: 03-22-1989) stemming from a traffic stop at the intersection of Murl Street and Wall Boulevard on December 10, 2018.

At about 7:28 p.m., NOPD Fourth District Power Watch officers were dispatched to investigate a reported disturbance in the 1800 block of Murl Street. During this investigation, the officers learned that four suspects in the incident had reportedly fled in a black Audi vehicle. While speaking to the complainant, officers spotted the suspect vehicle at the intersection of Murl Street and Wall Boulevard and ordered the driver to stop. The driver, later identified as Ledet, was suspected of possessing marijuana. Upon a search of the vehicle, no marijuana was found. However, officers discovered during their search a loaded firearm near where Ledet – found to be a convicted felon – was sitting. The firearm was additional found to have been reported stolen out of St. Charles Parish.

Ledet was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center as a felon in possession of a firearm and illegal possession of a stolen firearm.  The passenger in the vehicle was not charged in this incident.
