NOPD VOWS Officers, U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect in Homicide on Oliver White Avenue

NOPD VOWS Officers, U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect in Homicide on Oliver White Avenue

On December 1, 2017, members of the NOPD’s Violent Offenders Warrant Squad, along with the U.S. Marshals, arrested Terrance Crawford (DOB: 02-22-1992) in connection with a fatal double shooting that occurred in the 2900 block of Oliver White Avenue on October 21, 2017.

Fifth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at around 7:55 p.m. in the 2900 block of Oliver White Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds inside of a home. Both victims were transported to the hospital by EMS, where one victim died from his injuries.

As investigation into the incident progressed, detectives were able to develop Crawford as a suspect. Investigators were able to track Crawford to Houston, Texas, where he was arrested for second degree murder and attempted second degree murder in connection with this incident.

In addition to the homicide, Crawford was also arrested for two counts of armed robbery, two counts of armed robbery with a firearm and one count each of aggravated battery, theft and felon in possession of a firearm. These charges stemmed from a separate incident that occurred on September 15, 2017 in the 6000 block of Burgundy Street.
