Suspect Sought by NOPD in Residential Burglary, Simple Battery on Green Street

Suspect Sought by NOPD in Residential Burglary, Simple Battery on Green Street

NOPD Second District detectives are seeking assistance from the public in identifying and locating a suspect in a residential burglary that occurred on Nov. 30 in the 9000 block of Green Street.

Just before 3:30 p.m., the pictured subject was in the process of burglarizing the aforementioned residence when the victim returned home. The subject was seen walking away from the victim’s residence, pulling a garbage can filled with her belongings. When the victim attempted to confront and stop the subject, he allegedly elbowed her in the mouth, causing minor injuries before fleeing the scene.        

The unknown black male subject possibly goes by the name of "Darius". He is approximately 50 years of age, standing about 6’0” and weighing about 250 pounds. Police believe the subject cased the victim's residence and proceeded to burglarize the location over the course of nearly three hours.

The incident was captured on the victim's video surveillance system. The included photograph depicts the clearest view of the suspect’s face.

When located, the suspect will be arrested and charged with residential burglary and simple battery in this incident.
