Officer Shantell Howard Named Bardell Co. Officer Of The Month

Fourth District Officer Shantell Howard has been named the Bardell Co. Officer of the Month this December. Howard was nominated by her supervisors in the Fourth District for the volunteer work she does off-the-clock to help individuals transitioning from being homeless. Chris Bardell, the owner and operator of more than a dozen McDonald’s restaurants in the Greater New Orleans area, started the recognition program in September as a way to reward NOPD patrol officers for the good work they do every day.

As part of the honor, the Bardell Co., awards the winning officer with a $750 scholarship that the officer can use to participate in police training and leadership programs across the country. Since September, Bardell has given away $2,250 in scholarships.

Howard accepted the award at the December “Coffee with Cops” event today (Dec. 10) at the McDonald’s located at 1918 North Broad Street.
