NOPD Seeking Suspect on Multiple Charges in Three Incidents on South Rocheblave Street

The NOPD is seeking assistance from the public in locating Donald Johnson (DOB 05-20-1967), who is wanted on numerous charges stemming from incidents in August, November and December of this year.

On August 31 at about 6:45 a.m., Second District officers were called to the 4200 block of South Rocheblave Street on a call of a domestic simple battery. In the incident, the victim said she woke her ex-husband, later identified as Johnson, as he slept on a sofa. The two then engaged in a verbal altercation which allegedly became physical, as the victim said Johnson struck her in the face with a closed fist numerous times, as well as allegedly kicking her in the head. The victim then called police and fled the location

On November 28 at about 6:20 a.m., Second District officers responded to an auto theft call in the same location. The victim told police her ex-husband, identified as Johnson, was beating on her front door with his fist and kicking the door. She informed Johnson that she had called police, at which time Johnson allegedly stole the victim’s silver 2010 Four Taurus bearing California license plate # 7EPR985. The victim also told police that Johnson had allegedly left harassing text messages on the victim’s cell phone the previous evening.

On December 4 at about 9 a.m., Second District Officers again responded to the same location for a call of a simple burglary of a residence. The victim told police she had returned to her residence after work to find a window pane on her front door shattered and the door open. She entered the residence and found her bedroom and basement ransacked and her bed frame and mattress destroyed, as well as clothing drenched in chemicals. She also noticed two purses were missing from the residence.

In addition to the charges in New Orleans, Johnson is also wanted by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office for multiple counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated criminal damage to property and simple criminal damage to property in an incident that occurred there on December 4.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Donald Johnson is asked to contact Second District detectives at 504-658-6020. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
