The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred this morning (Dec. 26) in the Seventh District.
At 7:34 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 7900 block of Lamb Street. Upon arrival they found an approximately 38-year-old black male lying in the front yard suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
Family members told detectives the man was in the area visiting relatives.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name and the official cause of death.
