NOPD Investigating a Homicide on Flanders

The NOPD Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred tonight (Dec. 11), near the intersection of Flanders and DeArmas streets. The triple shooting claimed the life of an unidentified male, and wounded two other adult males.

Shortly after 9:00 p.m., Fourth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting around Flanders and DeArmas streets. Upon arrival, police discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The adult male was transported by EMS to an area hospital for treatment where he is listed in critical condition. Two blocks down, at the intersection of Flanders and Socrates streets police discovered a second male victim suffering from a gunshot wound(s) in the driver seat of a red vehicle that had crashed into an apartment building. The adult male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A short time later, a third male victim arrived at a local hospital, via private conveyance and was listed in stable condition.

Investigation into this incident is ongoing. No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased victim and official causes of death, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
