NOPD Arrests Suspect for Multiple Armed Robberies

The NOPD has arrested a man wanted for a spree of armed robberies reported over a four month time-span this year.

 

Seventh District officers arrested Dionte “Spade” Jones (DOB: 8-5-1995) Thursday (Dec. 8) after they stopped him for driving a stolen vehicle on Avon Park Boulevard. Through the course of the investigation, officers learned Jones was wanted for four armed robberies, along with other crimes reported between June and November 2016.

 

Jones was arrested for four armed robberies, two attempted armed robberies, and illegal possession of a stolen auto.

Armed Robbery

In Louisiana, an armed robbery conviction requires the offender to be imprisoned at hard labor for 10 – 99 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. When a firearm is used in the commission of the crime, the offender will be imprisoned for an additional 5 years that will be served consecutively to the original sentence.
