The NOPD is seeking the public's help in identifying and locating a person of interest and a suspect in an armed carjacking that occurred in the Fourth District.

On August 30, 2023 at about 7:55 p.m., the victim gave the two pictured subjects a ride to a gas station in the 3600 block of General De Gaulle Drive.

The subject known as 'Mello' exited the vehicle and then the victim and the subject known as 'Shorty' relocated to another gas station in the 3500 block of General De Gaulle Drive where 'Shorty' alleged brandished a gun, struck the victim and told him to leave the vehicle.  

'Shorty' then allegedly drove off in the victim's 2021, white Ford F-150 pick-up truck with a temporary tag on the rear window.

According to investigators, 'Mello' is being sought as a person of interest in this incident and is not wanted in connection with the carjacking.  However, "Shorty" is being sought as a suspect in this incident.
