NOPD Seeking Person of Interest in Homicide Investigation

NOPD Seeking Person of Interest in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD is asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating a person of interest in a homicide investigation.

On June 21, 2023, Officers were called to the 2000 block of North Prieur Street for shots fired.

Upon arrival, Fifth District officers found an unresponsive male suffering from gunshot wounds.  He was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The coroner identified the victim as 41-year-old Leroy Butler, III.

Through investigation detectives determined that the pictured person may have information pertinent to their investigation.  They are seeking this subject as person of interest only, the person is not wanted in this incident.
