The NOPD is investigating a traffic fatality that occurred at the intersection of Esplanade Avenue and North Broad Street and left one person dead.
According to investigators, the driver of a vehicle was traveling eastbound on North Broad Street when the driver struck an adult male pedestrian crossing North Broad Street heading northbound on Esplanade Avenue. Emergency Medical Technicians declared the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Toxicology testing results pending.
