The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (August 26, 2022) in the 700 block of Teche Street that left one person dead.
At about 11:52 a.m., NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a call of shots fired at the intersection of Teche and Red Allen Way. Upon arrival, officers located a male subject down in the block and having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where he was declared deceased.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
